Fair balance, a piece of solid workmanship, a longer and thicker handle as well as a sword length till 2,5- 2,8 Shaku makes this Iaito perfect for a european man. It fits the practice condition for a european Iaidoka. The first- class blade is 8mm thick and wider than standard blades. You can terrifically handle this sword and lets you make strong and fast cut-moves. A 2,5 Shaku sword weighs approx. 1000g, at 2,8 Schaku it weighs approx. 1200g.

Katsumushi means “dragonfly”. The dragonfly is an impressive hunter.There is no other insect with more acceleration speed than the dragonfly. In her world the dragonfly is superior. The warriors saw in her abilities aspects of their self-conceptions. To adorn a sword with a dragonfly means to transfer the abilities of the dragonfly to him and his sword.
