Fuchi and Kashira - Japan Budo Katana Made Of Spring ...

Japan Budo offers with this  Katana / Shinken a sword which is optimal for the technical training but also for cutting exercises (Tameshigeri). The weight at 2.50 shaku is forged approximately 920g. The blade is extra thin and very sharp You can use this sword but also dulled order to make it then sharpen it. This makes sense if you first create a greater security in dealing with a real sword to win.
Visually, this Katana / Shinken is very complementary  designed. All fittings show a dragonfly motif (Katsumushi design).
The spring steel blade has the backing blade (Mune), and the edge (Ha) a hardness of about 55 ° HCR. Since it is the spring steel, the sword is an excellent stress on tolerance regarding breakage and bending. It is the sword for cutting exercises of traditional rice straw mats or similar materials is well suited.
The blade is in default Habaki zone (Moto-Kasane) approx 6mm thick. However, you can also order stronger blade with about 8mm Moto-Kasane. Such a sword would be at 2.50 shaku weigh around 1100g. The Hamon is not adding, but by sandblasting upset. The optics comes a real Hamon so very close. Because the sandblasted hamon dosen`t stand tameshigeri it`s not standard but additional option at your wish.
The price would be for an already Steeliaito very good,  for a tameshigiri Shinken, he is fantastic.
