Jo - Japan Budo Katana Made Of Carbon Steel

This Katana / Shinken is distinguished by the outstanding quality of the blade. The used Carbonsteel  top product is a modern steel manufacturing (C105W!). Japan hopes that this Budo Katana / sword Shinken optimal for the technical training but also for cutting exercises (Tameshigiri) offer. This Katana / Shinken is certainly the optimum carrying capacity for a Monosteellsword.
The cutting is traditionally manufactured hardened. The hardness in the blade back (Mune) is located at 40 ° HCR. The cutting edge (Ha) has a hardness of about 60 ° HCR. The cutting edge is very flat and very sharp forged. The blade is in default Habaki zone (Moto-Kasane) approx 6mm thick. It weighs at 2.50 shaku approximately 970g. However, you can also order stronger blade with about 8mm Moto-Kasane. Such a sword would be at 2.50 shaku weigh around 1100g. The blade is very durable and excellent for cutting exercises classical (Tameshigiri) of rice straw mats or bamboo green suitable.
