FAQ - Iaito
Here you can find some answers about frequently asked questions to the topic Iaito.-
Which length I need?
Both a sword, which is too small, and also a too long sword constricts or prevents correct movements. Hence we approve following sword lengths:
Body Length / Sword Length:
160 cm / 2,40 Shaku = 72,7 cm
165 cm / 2,45 Shaku = 74,2 cm
170 cm / 2,50 Shaku = 75,8 cm
175 cm / 2,55 Shaku = 77,3 cm
180 cm / 2,60 Shaku = 78,8 cm
185 cm / 2,65 Shaku = 80,3 cm
190 cm / 2,70 Shaku = 81,8 cm
195 cm / 2,75 Shaku = 83,3 cm
Measured from the grooving of the Habaki at the blade back to the sword top and not from the Tsuba to the sword top.
